So, I am always looking for affordable things to do w/the boys on my days home with them. We picked up these Dinosaur Fossil Excavation Kits from the Christmas Tree Shops and they were a hit with my boys. We were

outside for several hours as they "dug" for fossils. A pretty good bang for my buck at $3.99 per kit!
