Christmas 2011

Best Christmas yet! We got to spend the 23rd w/Mike and Katie and celebrate Mom and Dad's 39th wedding anniversary. Then, Doc and Uncle Bay joined us Christmas Eve for Christmas Eve service at our church and then dinner at my sister's house.
We ate dinner, made cookies for Santa, and the cousins sprinkled reindeer food in Karen and Brad's backyard just to make sure that Santa could find us! ;)
We spent the night at Karen and Brad's Christmas Eve night so that the boy cousins could all wake up Christmas morning together...and that was nothing short of fabulous. The grandparents (Mom, Dad, Doc) and Uncle Bay got to K's bright and early in order to make sure that they didn't miss anything...the boys beat them up by a few minutes and we had to hold the boys in the hall until we signaled "Go!"
It was so much fun to have everyone there...we had a ball. Santa left the boys a Nintendo DS, which was at the top of their list...complete w/a "rules for the ds" letter from Santa that I had to read before they could open it. Good job Mike. ;) Doc and Bay left town after brunch to join family in Denton. The rest of us had a lunch of honeybaked ham, potatoes, and salad.
Then, we were all exhausted from all of the festivities so Mike and I decided to get a jump on the holiday traffic and leave late Christmas Day afternoon instead of the next morning so that we could have one full day home before Mike returned to work. It worked out perfectly.
Thanks to Doc and Bay for making the trip to OK, it was a great holiday and the only reason it wasn't "perfect" was that we didn't have Laney there....I am sure that she was smiling down on us though. We did some reminiscing w/Doc around the dinner table Christmas Eve and I know she was there w/us in spirit!
